Brunch with Bach – Saturday, January 28, 2012
January 11, 2012 at 11:43 am | Posted in Concerts, Fundraising | Leave a commentPlease join us for Brunch with Bach, the Bremerton Symphony Youth Orchestra annual fundraiser. Music starts at 10:30 a.m. at the Kitsap Conference Center at Bremerton Harborside.
The program will be classical chamber pieces played by groups ranging in size from two to five. Your $25 ticket includes live chamber music, buffet brunch, and a silent auction.

What you need for the audition:
All:
Registration form (pick up at audition) and $25
Strings:
- 2-3 Min. Prepared Piece, no accompaniment needed, memorization not required, should demonstrate your abilities as a musician. Suggestions provided on PDF.
- Major and minor scales from PDF.
- Sightreading music provided at audition
- PDF for Bass, Cello, Viola, Violin
Woodwind and Brass:
- 2-3 Min. Prepared Piece, no accompaniment needed, memorization not required, should demonstrate your abilities as a musician.
- 2 octave scales up to 3 sharps or 3 flats in the key signature. Major and minor.
- Sightreading music provided at audition
Percussion:
- 2-3 min. snare drum excerpt of your choice displaying your ability on the instrument, bring your own drum.
- Optional 2-3 min. mallet excerpt of your choice
- Optional 2-3 min. timpani excerpt of your choice
- Sightreading excerpt provided at audition

Season Premiere
Break a Leg: Music from Theater and Dance

Location: Bremerton High School Performing Arts Center
Cost: $5 general admission

Join our Bremerton Symphony Orchestra for their fall concert and season premiere on Sunday, November 20 at 4 p.m. Our two groups will play music from theater and dance, such as
- Mozart: Overture to The Magic Flute
- Borodin: Polovtsian Dances
- Tchaikovsky: Overture to Romeo and Juliet
General admission tickets are $5. You can reserve your tickets by calling the office Tues-Fri at (360) 373-1722 or purchase at the door.
2011-2012 Handbook Correction
September 20, 2011 at 4:45 pm | Posted in Concerts, For musicians, For parents | Leave a commentThe date listed in the new policies handbook for the final concert is incorrect. The handbook that was given out last Sunday says the 2011-2012 season finale is May 5, when it is actually May 6.
Please make the appropriate changes in your handbook, and we apologize for any inconvenience.
Parent Meeting/Special Rehearsal Schedule – September 18th

Sinfonietta rehearsal – 5:30 to 6:30 pm
Parent meeting – 6:30 to 7:30 pm
Orchestra rehearsal – 7:30 to 8:30 pm
Neither group will have sectionals on September 18th. The regular rehearsal schedule will begin September 25th.
