The BSYO is a part of the Bremerton Symphony Association, a non-profit organization. Our mission is to provide young people of Greater Kitsap County with an orchestral experience marked by educational excellence. The BSYO works in conjunction with the music programs offered throughout the Greater Kitsap Community public and private school systems and some home school groups. BSYO provides a “different” opportunity by involving the youth in a full orchestral program.
Any student musician who has had at least one year of experience on an orchestral instrument is welcome to audition for the Bremerton Symphony Youth Orchestra. Woodwind and brass players younger than the 7th grade should have at least two years of experience on their instrument. Auditions are heard by members of the BSA artistic staff. All qualified students will be offered placement in the orchestra, based on skill and experience as demonstrated in the audition.
BSYO rehearsals are held on Sundays from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Olympic College Music Building. If you are going to have to miss a rehearsal, please contact Gena Wales, BSYO Business Manager, at (360) 373-1722.
