About the Conductor

Michael Woods received his Bachelor’s degree in Music Education at Pacific Lutheran University where he studied conducting under Dr. Raydell Bradley and trombone performance under Don Immel. He taught briefly in Eastern Washington before continuing his studies in trombone performance at the University of Washington.

He currently teaches instrumental music at Central Kitsap High School where he directs the jazz band, orchestra, concert band, wind ensemble, and marching band programs. In 2007, the Washington Music Educators Association recognized him as the Outstanding Music Educator of the Year for the Olympic region.
